DJ, promoter, raconteur, music connoisseur, Andy Bird is all these and more. An eclectic and technically highly proficient DJ, Andy’s as happy playing deep Detroit-tinged house as he is with a disco and boogie set. He has graced the decks with DJ stalwarts such as Danny Krivit, Kerri Chandler, Jazzie B, DJ Spinna, DJ Harvey, Jazzanova, Bugz in the Attic, Moodymann, Idjut Boys and Greg Wilson – and that’s just at his own parties!
It's his music collection - with influences ranging from Vangelis, Muddy Waters, Fela Kuti, Prince, through to Prelude and Salsoul disco right up to Moodymann, D.F.A and Move D – that turns him into a formidable force behind the decks, enabling him to pull something special out of his record bag to rock any party around the world. With bookings coming in from as far and wide as Dubai, Estonia, Dublin & Thailand!
In early 2009, Andy launched new club nights Love Fever and automatica. His techno & electronica
flavoured night automatica reflects the depth and quality of Europe’s burgeoning deep house scene
with guests that have so far included Roland Appel, Maurice Fulton, Steve Kotey, Greg Wilson,
Trus'me, Rainer Truby and Mark E. Andy’s also kept his toes dipped in disco’s bubble bath by
launching his occasional Love Fever party featuring some of the world’s most revered disco
connoisseurs, such as Danny Krivit, Rahaan, Nicky Siano, Domu and Greg Wilson, most recently an off the chain all dayer at Shoreditch’s Horse & Groom disco boozer!
His rare groove, soul and boogie night SoulBrew recently celebrated it's 7th birthday with
Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B, at the uber cool East Village. Rapidly becoming a London institution famed for their quality parties in unique venues including a French chateau, rooftop gardens and numerous boat parties on London’s River Thames.
